When Must Clients Provide Their Consent To An Advice Fee?

Generally, clients need to provide their consent by 30 June 2022 at the latest for advice fees to continue to be deducted from their account the following month. However, the anniversary date and therefore the consent expiry date for each account may be different depending on the account open date and the most recent date when advice fees were updated on the account. The different scenarios are outlined below, you can also view the anniversary date for each account from the Fee renewals page.

  1. The account was opened between 1 July 2021 and 30 June 2022. The anniversary date is the date the account was activated.
  2. Advice fees were updated between 1 July 2021 and 30 June 2022. Regardless of the account open date, the anniversary date is the date the change of fees form was signed by the client.
  3. The account was opened before 1 July 2021 and advice fees were not updated between 1 July 2021 and 30 June 2022. The anniversary date will default to 1 February 2022 with the consent expiry date being 30 June 2022.
