How Do I Charge A Fixed Term Advice Fee?

Fixed terms advice fees are applied at account level, during onboarding or after.

Setting up fixed term advice fees: Use this function to apply a fixed term advice fee to a client's account

This fee differs from an ongoing advice fee in that it applies from start date to end date, for a maximum of 12 months. It does not have a reference date and therefore is not subject to the renewal process associated with ongoing advice fees.

Onboarding

  1. Whilst completing the online onboarding form for the client, on the Cash, investments & fees page, the wizard allows for fees to be charged on an ongoing basis, or on a fixed term.
  2. Select the preferred fee arrangement method (this articles assumes 'fixed-term' has been selected), and follow the prompts thereafter.
  3. Enter a Start date and an End date for the fee to apply.

Renewing fees

  1. On the client's account, navigate to the Adviser fees page.
  2. Click on the pencil icon in the top right hand corner to update the fees currently applied to the account.
  3. Follow the instructions on the screen to apply the desired fee arrangement.
  4. Print a prepopulated Advice fee consent form for wet signature, or save as digital acceptance. Selecting the latter will email the client for digital acceptance.
